Street artist : Koralie

Koralie, an plastic artist and urban artist, lives in Biarritz.
Originally from a village in small Camargue, Koralie studied architecture in Montpellier (1995-2001), in parallel she began to exhibit and discovered the graffiti in Toulouse, a revelation, which pushes to paint on the walls of cities from 1999.

Painting, drawing and modeling are her passions since childhood, she will quickly devote herself to her vocation and become an established artist.
Settled for 2 years on the Basque coast with her husband SupaKitch (notorious painter) and their 2 children, after spending 4 years in Brooklyn, NYC and 4 years in Paris.

She draws inspiration from her travels, the different cultures and traditions of the countries of the world: folk costumes, emblematic monuments and animist rituals, which offer an aesthetic richness, a variety of symbols specific to each. She likes to break down borders by mixing elements of these different origins, traditional and contemporary, and wishes to create a multicultural harmony dreamlike.

The elegance of her singular work translates into a search for graphic and ethnic balance that intertwines architectural geometry (symmetry, repetition) and organic geometry (weaving).
Her techniques, her supports and her tools vary according to her message and her projects: paintings on canvas or murals, scultures in wood and weavings, vector drawings, installations, videos …

For 12 years, she made herself known by her Geishkas, sensual and modest characters half geisha, half matriochka mixed with the spirit of Kachinas, she painted in the four corners of the world. Then from 2012, she creates chimerical architects art deco style.

Finally, in recent years, she has implemented a technique of stencils that she defines as a new language of creation: each stencil is an element of her score, she composes from different original motifs kaleidoscopic rosettes and palm groves, tribute to nature.
